KAFTAN is a brand from Bogotá-Colombia, founded in 2001 by Monica Duque, fashion designer, and John Ortiz, plastic artist. From the beginning this couple made a bet to experiment and propose a new concept of fashion design where diversity, inclusion, environmental consciousness, fair trade, atemporality, the esthetic and functional were the fundamental bases. In this way, KAFTAN has guaranteed its loyal customers the chance to have a different, high quality and identity Brand.
KAFTAN, during these 18 years, has stood out by participating in international fashion fairs such as Paris’ Ethical Fashion Show in the Louvre Museum. Additionally, we have obtained recognition in competitions such as the Desing Lenzing Modal done in Austria, being the only competitor coming from South America. Locally we have participated in several fairs and won fashion design prizes such as the first place in the National Fashion Competition: “L’ethique c’est Chic” organized by the French Alliance.
